Frank J. Gow, 65, of Johnson City, NY, died Thursday June 2, 2011 after a long illness. He was predeceased by his mother, Pauline V. Gow, and his father, Gordon
J. Gow, who was a co-founder and president of McIntosh Labs. Although Frank never worked directly for McIntosh, he promoted the product for over 40 years. That makes the Gow name
synonymous with McIntosh for over 60 years. In the 70's Frank worked in the audio department of Clark Music, Syracuse, NY. He managed the audio department at Weeks & Dickenson's in
Binghamton, NY, then later started his own firm selling electronic components to industries such as IBM. Frank joined Audio Classics as a senior audio consultant in 1993, where he
became a fixture known for his immense audio knowledge, broad smile, and hearty laugh. To his customers he was an anchor in the world of stormy seas that was the production of sound,
and he could be depended on to voice a solution that was amenable to all. He was a graduate of St. Patrick's Academy Class of 1962, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, and a
father to three grown children. He enjoyed flying, fine wine, and great music. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Frank may be made to the American Heart Association, 59 Court Street,
Binghamton, NY 13901. |
