The McIntosh MC2600 is not merely an amplifier; it is a monument to American audio engineering. Designed by Ron Evans, retired McIntosh VP of Engineering,
for those who demand uncompromising performance. The MC2600 is renowned as a "beast" of an amp, offering immense power reserves that bring life, authority, and depth to
any speaker system, regardless of its load requirements. It is one of his most prized designs. Mr. Evans pioneered the foil laminated Output Autoformer bobbin to minimize
eddy currents in the core. Without the shield, it would not meet 0.005% distortion at 20 kHz.

The MC2600 is beloved for its ability to effortlessly deliver power without harshness. It was the final massive solid-state power amplifier in the tradition
of the MC350, MC2300 and MC2500, offering unparalleled stability. The perfect choice for audiophiles looking for a vintage "statement piece", demanding speakers requiring
immense current, and those seeking high-end McIntosh performance from a classic heavy duty build.

The MC2600 was marketed as one of the most powerful amplifiers built for home entertainment at the time of its release, utilizing 36 power devices and massive transformers
to deliver a robust 600 watts per channel into 2, 4, or 8 ohms (1200W mono). Known for its immense power and "tank-like" build, this solid-state beast is celebrated for
driving difficult speaker loads effortlessly while providing a warm, detailed, and stable sound signature, making it a highly desirable vintage classic.
