Feedback: RE MC100 Just thought Id pass along two observations
1) this is the fourth vintage mac Ive owned and its in by FAR the best shape of any of them
2) it sounds amazing. Much closer to my MC50 than to my 2100 or 2120, which is exactly what I was hoping for.
Thank you for the expedience and for the customer service!! CJ, MD |
I purchased 23 vintage amplifiers
.....The amps were mostly tube, and
mostly McIntosh. All of the amps
were in various states of disrepair. I
called McIntosh directly to inquire
about service options. They made
only one recommendation: Audio
Classics. Audio Classics is known
worldwide for their expertise in the
repair of vintage McIntosh
equipment. Richard Modafferi,
inventor of various McIntosh tube
tuners, heads up their tube repair
team. Although Mr. Modafferi did
not work on this MC100 (because it
is not a tube unit), Audio Classics
replaced several transistors and
cleaned the unit. They provided
written test results (which I will
include) that shows this baby
pumping 145 watts before clipping
versus its 100 watt rating. L.L.NY. |
